Arizona Dual Enrollment Teacher Incentive Program Update March 2024

New! Any teacher who taught a dual enrollment course during the 23-24 school year is now eligible for a one-time, up to $1000 incentive! Specific information and eligibility requirements can be found below. 

The state has approved new funding this year to support dual enrollment throughout Arizona. This money will provide tuition assistance for students who take dual enrollment courses and dual enrollment teachers.  ADE is responsible for the payment of this incentive, ElevateEdAZ is only providing information about the new funding and teacher incentive. Please reach out to your direct supervisor with any questions as each local education agency has its own process in reporting qualified teachers to ADE. 

Teacher Incentive Program /Dual Enrollment Development Fund:

  • Any teacher who taught a dual enrollment course during the 23-24 school year is eligible for a one time, up to $1,000 incentive from the state of Arizona.
  • Teachers must meet both the following:
    • Satisfies the requirements for teaching a dual enrollment course adopted by a higher learning commission.
    • Provides instruction in at least one dual enrollment course during the 2023-2024 school year.
  • Timeline:
    • March 1-31: Local Education Agencies report qualifying teachers to ADE.
    • April: ADE verifies teachers, determines payment, and recommends payment.
    • May/June: LEA provides attestation of payment disbursements to ADE.
  • FAQS:
    • What is the total budget for this fund? 
      The state-wide total for this fund is $500,000.
    • Will every teacher who qualifies receive the $1,000 bonus? 
      A teacher will receive no more than $1,000. If the statewide sum of per teacher bonuses exceeds the amount available in the fund, the bonus monies will be reduced proportionally to cover all eligible bonus awards.
    • How many incentives can teachers receive? 
      This is a one-time incentive for teachers.
    • How do teachers get the incentive bonus?
      LEAs will report teachers who qualify for this bonus to ADE. ADE will verify the information and disperse funds to LEAs to be paid to teachers.
