Arizona recently approved new funding this year to support dual enrollment throughout the state. This money will provide tuition assistance for students who take dual enrollment courses and incentives to teachers who get certified to teach dual enrollment courses.

Arizona Dual Enrollment Tuition Assistance Program (AZDETAP) 

  • Available for all Arizona high school students grades 9-12
  • Students who qualify can earn up to $50 per credit hour to complete a dual enrollment course.
  • 9th and 10th grade students have access to a maximum of $300 per year.
  • 11th and 12th grade students have access to a maximum of $600 per year.
  • Students will be credited any tuition assistance funds to their student accounts, no need to pay upfront and be reimbursed.

Students must meet the following criteria:

  • 9th-12th grade high school student*
    • *9th grade students must have a high school transcript to qualify for funds
  • Enrolled in a dual enrollment qualifying course that:
    • Fulfills a lower division general education credit at a state university or community college OR
    • Is a career and technical education course that is required for a certificate, credential, or license.
    • Is taught at a high school or CTED.
  • Overall, unweighted high school GPA of 2.5 or greater as demonstrated by a high school transcript.
  • Demonstrates financial need and meets financial guidelines as demonstrated by one of the following:
    • Qualifying letter
    • Free and Reduced Lunch
    • 2022 Tax Return Transcript
  • Students must receive a C or higher in the course.
  • Concurrent enrollment courses do not qualify for this funding.
