ElevateEdAZ and Helios Education Foundation are now offering a $1,000 incentive to teachers who become qualified to teach dual enrollment between April 2024 and June 2025!
Why Dual Enrollment?
- Dual enrollment is rapidly gaining interest among students in Arizona and across the country, however, access to these classes is limited due to the availability of certified teachers.
- Students who take dual enrollment courses are twice as likely to go to college*
- Students who take dual enrollment courses are more likely to stay enrolled in college, earn higher GPAs, and complete their degree*
Incentive Program
- Teachers who become qualified to teach dual enrollment between April 2024 and June 2025 are eligible for this incentive. Teachers must:
- Be approved to teach a new dual enrollment course with an Arizona post-secondary institution between April 2024 and June 2025 OR:
- Be a current dual enrollment teacher who becomes qualified to teach an additional dual enrollment course (Example: a teacher who currently teaches creative writing dual enrollment course now teaching English 101/102).
- Dual enrollment courses must be on the ElevateEdAZ list of qualified courses. These are courses that have high transferability and/or are part of the AGEC (Arizona General Education Curriculum).
- New dual enrollment course must be verified by direct supervisor.
Incentive Reporting Process
- Request a Dual Enrollment Expansion Teacher Incentive Packet here.
- Fill out the Disbursement Agreement, Course Verification Form, and W9 PDFs below. Email completed documents to teachercertification@elevateedaz.com
- After submission, you will receive an email from BILL.com to create an account for direct deposit payment.
Getting Certified and Scholarship Information
- Teachers must meet the following criteria to teach dual enrollment courses.
- Master’s Degree in discipline to be taught OR
- Master’s Degree in any area with 18 graduate credits in the discipline to be taught
- Certification in partnership with your local community college or university

- Arizona Teacher Academy
- The ATA will cover tuition and fees for those interested in becoming a dual enrollment teacher.
- The ATA has partnered with ASU and NAU to offer scholarships for teachers to take course work to be certified to teach dual enrollment courses.
