Summer is finally here! While it is important to relax and recharge from the school year, summer can also be your opportunity to learn some new skills to help better prepare you for life after high school. The list of workshops and programs below are useful and engaging – and won’t take too much time away from the fun you have planned with family and friends this summer! Check below for a list of workshops and programs to give you an advantage going into next school year, and beyond!
Phoenix Union Summer Workshops:
Essay Writing: Common Application for Out of State Applications
Join this virtual workshop to learn about essay-writing for scholarships and admission, using prompts from the Common Application!

College Depot ACT Test Prep
Participate in a free 6-week ACT prep online program!
Date: June 1 – June 4
Time: 1pm – 2pm
PXU ACT Test Prep Summer
Practice for the ACT test and focus on improving skills in: pacing, test question familiarity, and strategies in English, reading, math, and science, among more!
Prep Dates: July 12 – July 15
Time: 10am – 2pm
In-State College Application Workshop: PXU Liftoff
Complete all in-state college applications and attend information sessions from both public and private-in-state universities and community colleges!
Date: July 26 – July 30
Time: 10am -12pm and 1pm – 3pm
Mesa Public Schools Summer Programs:
Senior High Summer School
Take classes in driver’s education, English, math, physical education, social studies, and Spanish!
Date: June 1 – June 18 and June 21 – July 9
Alice Cooper’s Solid Rock Teen Center
Work on creative projects including, working on an art mural, working in the music industry, learning to play the ukulele, and making beats in a recording studio!

Phoenix Youth Rise Summer Program 2021
Find a short-term employment opportunity with a local business!
